I have relied on Elenvilla over a dozen years and they do excellent work. I can recommend them without hesitation. I've even had them sew a coat from scratch so there's no sewing project I wouldn't ask of them.

The staff is awesome, friendly and professional. You can tell that they have been in the business for some time by the work that they do so you can ask for help deciding how alteration on suits and dresses should be. Pricing is somewhat decent and they are flexible most of the time in case you had to make a last minute alteration. Highly recommended

I needed a Ugandan dress alternated and omg. So so so beautiful. Took 5 days and it was in time for my bday party. Three staff. English speaking. Very quick drop off. Not too pricey and kids have a piece of candy as they wait! Much needed when you have a ring of them. Loved them!

They did a great job on my triple-lined bridesmaid's dress. Turn around time was quick, price was VERY reasonable and they are lovely people to boot.

  • *****

Affordable and excellent. They have a bit of a wait so drop it off a while before you want it back, my turn around was 2 weeks.

  • *****

Elenvilla tailored my dress beautifully and it was super affordable. I saved so much money on my wedding dress by choosing to get it altered here. The tailor even humored me when I asked her to take it in for a tighter fit, even though I knew it would be a difficult job because of the stretch of the fabric.

  • *****

I highly recommend her. She altered my evening gown and transformed a 1980s velvet jacket into a 1930s evening jacket.

  • *****

50% price compared to seattle alterations. Fine job. Can't complaint!

  • *****

4 pairs of jeans with new zippers for under a hundred!

Mary Ann did an amazing job altering a bridesmaid dress for me! I needed it taken out and hemmed, and I couldnt have imagined a better job being done. Highly recommend her to anyone needing any kind of alterations! I will definitely use her in the future.

I came in with a beautiful hand woven/knit blanket that I had stupidly thrown in the washer machine. It had basically unraveled, hanging on by literal threads. She was careful, considered the blanket, and explained to me how she suggested fixing it. I agreed and in a week or two, my blanket was ready, good as new. You could never tell it had been basically destroyed before! And the cost was so reasonable. I will be using Ellenvilla again the next time I need something altered!

  • *****

Fantastic work! Got me all set for my brother's wedding.

  • *****

Very professional, quick, and efficient. I dropped off my pants for hemming without any hassle

  • *****

I have had suits altered and pants altered here. Great little family business worthy of your support. Quality work with a smile.

Dont listen to some of the post that are on here about bringing expensive clothes. They were probably just a horrible customer. I brought in a $100 Carhartt work pants and the materials are really thick and difficult to alter. I had them taper and hem my pants and they turned out beyond my expectation. Also fair price compared to a lot of other places in Seattle. Trust me if you need something altered go here theyre the absolute best.

  • *****

Great job, had patches added to my coat and some plants hemmed. Will use again.

  • *****

Have used them for multiple alterations. Always great!

  • *****

This place was great. I brought them a pair of pants I needed hemmed only a few days before heading out for a wedding weekend. Even though they typically request 2 weeks, they bent the rules for me and turned them around in just two days. Will definitely be returning!

  • *****

Had a "made-to-measure" suit that didn't fit quite right out of the box, took it to Elenvilla and they did a fabulous job altering it to perfection.

  • *****

Ive had 2 dresses altered here and both were great work. Both times I brought in items I was immediately helped. She gives the price up front and a specific day to pick up the items. Both items have been completed by the specified time. They can do the work pretty quickly as well and are very accommodating. I will be a regular here as its so easy to drop off items and theyre very reliable.

Terrific! I have been bringing my clothing to her for alterations for 4 years now and it hasn't been less than terrific. The stitching and seams are flawless on my pants, jeans, and shirts. Turnaround time is fair for the quality of work. I highly recommend.

Excellent work on my business suit jacket (timely and reasonably priced). I liked that her trade was passed down from family. My wife will be bringing our daughters' junior bridesmaids' dresses there for alteration.

Excellent work on a riding jacket for my daughter. She won her class today. Thank you

  • *****

First time using this shop. I have two athletic skorts that I don't exercise in because the shorts ride up and chafe. I brought them in and the seamstress was able to insert some elastic to help keep the shorts in place. So now I can comfortably wear my skorts for nice long walks!

Only taking off one star because it seemed like it shouldn't take two weeks for that job -- but I guess they're quite busy!

  • *****

I went here 13 years ago to have my prom dress altered. They had to cut lace and beading and redo the beading and lace and they did an AMAZING job. The cost was also very reasonable for the hard work they had to put in. 13 years later I am going back to alter a dress for a wedding :) lovely people and friendly neighborhood place! I’m glad I am a block away!

Once again, Elenvilla did an amazing job! Honest people and very professional. Highly recommended!

  • *****

I love this place, they do great work and are always honest about time frame. I buy most of my pants from thrift stores and they do a great job. They are always really friendly, I moved to Burien and still drive up to Pinehurst for their services.

  • *****

Really fantastic work they do here. I took in an old dress from the 80s to be altered for a costume party and it needed a lot of letting out. They recommended using some fabric from another area of the dress and it was done perfectly, way beyond my expectations of a one-time wear. And only $50. I highly recommend them.

  • *****

Elenvilla on 15th - I brought in my lightweight jacket for a new zipper, the woman said they only had black (jacket is greenish) but I gave it a try, and it turned out great. They are fairly priced, and the work is excellent. I like these folks and will definitely go back. I highly recommend them.

Elenvilla Alterations & Tailoring -- what can I say? I flew in for a large event, had to set up and prepare, and I completely forgot to get my dress altered earlier. I was in desperate need of help, and one of my friends recommended me this place, and let me just say -- Elenvilla saved the day! I brought my white dress and almost immediately, I was able to get it altered in a heartbeat. I am so impressed with the way they work and how kind and caring the employees are. Definitely a go to place when I come back to Seattle. In fact, when I attended the event, I was given so many kind compliments about how the dress fit me, and it's all thanks to ElenvThe experience was great and honestly, I hope to come back one day if I ever have another event to attend to in Washington.

I've been coming to Elenvilla for years and the ladies who work there are super sweet and accommodating! I came back for the first time in a while and they still remembered my name. :) I've never had any issues with alterations and they always do good work. I've had a couple of items over the years that needed tailoring quickly and they are always willing to help! Can't say enough good things about this place.

  • *****

Stellar tailoring job on a dress that I needed back within just a few days! For obvious reasons, it is the best-fitting and most flattering dress I've ever worn! I'll be back for ANY of my tailoring needs!

  • *****

Great work, attention to detail and what I wanted. Sweet people too. Love going in there. I often tip because she is not charging enough.

  • *****

I was recommended by my best friend to get my jeans tailored here --- and it's been just the best thing! She's friendly, professional, and gets the job finished beautifully! (Jeans were too long for me even for a 5'5 and half ft lady! lol, thank you so much!) Anyway - I highly recommend this place! :D

  • *****

I took a bridesmaid dress here to be hemmed and taken in. They did a fantastic job! The dress looks gorgeous and they got it done in a week and a half. Cute little shop, and friendly owners, I will definitely be back.

  • *****

I now spend a little more money but have wonderful clothing that I love and no longer waste money on clothing that does not fit properly. This place is one of these there is. I live in Southern California, but travel to Seattle to buy my shirts and suits from Elenvilla. It is worth the trip!

  • *****

So I committed one of the ultimate sins as a husband. I forgot to get my pants tailored for one of my wife's good friends' wedding. Worst still, I didn't realize it until the morning of the wedding.

I called Elenvilla at 11:30 in the morning in pure panic and shame, and bless the wonderful women there, they took pity on me.

I showed up with my pants at noon and she had them both taken in at the leg and hemmed and back to me by 1:45.

Completely saved me from the doghouse. They did great work, they were very reasonably priced, especially for what I was asking of them and they pulled it off flawlessly.

I honestly can't recommend them enough, especially if you're reading this review in a frantic panic like I was yesterday.

  • *****

Elenvilla did a fantastic job altering my jeans. They took in the sides and also hemmed them. I will be going back.

  • *****

Very professional, very quick! If we still lived in Seattle, I would continue to use them for all my tailoring needs. They have done everything from pants to bridesmaid dresses for me

  • *****

Very grateful for Elen! I had a special request and she did a great job, in fact, she went above and beyond. She didn't just keep her word, she did even more than I asked. Sincerely, thank you, Elen!! I'll definitely be back!!!

This is a family-run tailor who have done everything from simple hems to complex overcoat alterations for us. The quality of the work has been great, and they've been happy to correct any issues that arose (not many). The folks are so friendly, and they have convenient Saturday hours.

  • *****

I just got a pair of pants hemmed here two weeks ago, and when I went in to pick them up I got another pair patched up. It was much more affordable than anywhere else that I've been and the quality was better. My friend had recommended her to me, and I'm so glad I listened to her! The woman who helped me was really nice about getting the hem on my pants perfect (i'm really picky). I am taking all of my future alterations back to her, even if I move a little further away - it's worth it.

  • *****

Amazing tailoring, and a wonderful family. I've been going there for 4+ years for various jobs, mostly to hem pants for my short little legs; consistently high quality. Also tailored a winter coat and take in dresses. They are like family and it's always a pleasure to see them. You can't go wrong!

  • *****

I'd been putting off getting some clothes altered for a couple years, so I took in a huge batch to Elenvilla. Every single piece came out exactly as intended, and I will definitely return with more items. The daughter helped me, and she was really pleasant to work with and skilled. I requested two items to be done in three days, and the rest I said I could pick up in a week. When I went in to pick up my two early items, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the entire order was finished. The daughter made me feel great about my body and clothes, so who can beat that?

  • *****

This place is great. I have been happy with everything I've taken there, from simple jean hems to suit alterations. When you put on a garment, they have an excellent sense for what alternations are required. I've never disagreed with any of their suggestions--every time I go in with some specific alteration in mind, they suggest it without me having to point it out specifically.

Their prices are a bit lower than those I've seen elsewhere, and the family that runs it is always friendly. I've always been happy with their work as well. They're even flexible with quick turnarounds when necessary! I won't go anywhere else anymore.

    Great First Experience
I'm very tiny and always have trouble finding jeans/pants/coats that are in style and also fit properly. I was always a little upset about how my GUESS winter coat didn't fit very well but I was reluctant to have it altered and possibly ruined. I finally decided to just risk it rather than wear the ill-fitting thing any longer, and I'm very happy I chose ElenVilla. They are located close to Northgate Mall, it's a nice place, parking is easy, and service was good. I dropped my coat off on a Monday and picked it up that Friday. The price was extremely affordable and they did a great job ($25 to take the sides in on a wool coat with lining). I would definitely go back. Pros: parking, price, fast service

  • *****

    Great job!
I used them to make Bridemaids dresses for my Daughters wedding. She wanted them made out of a color we could not find so we had them made. Skirt and top about $170.00 and the work was perfect. Pros: easy to find parking

  • *****

    Fabulous neighborhood alterations
I've been going there for several years getting lots of things altered. They are very nice and friendly and have always done a great job altering my clothes. I highly recommend them. There is also lot's of parking and they have good hours for seeing them on the weekend or after work. Pros: Friendly and good work

  • *****

I couldn't be happier with the eye for detail, quality of work, price, or time to do the work I requested (as well as fix a flaw I hadn't even noticed before I brought my jacket in for alterations). Having returned to Seattle after many years abroad, I am happy I found my tailor so easily.

  • *****

I needed a zipper replaced on my jeans and they did a great job. The gal was quick to point out they did not have a gold zipper to match the original, which is a good heads up, but the dark blue they did have looks better than the original. Price was very reasonable ($15+tax) and they were all very nice. It did take a week for the work however I was in no hurry so I did not ask to speed it up-maybe that's possible? I am happy with the service and will return for all my future alterations needs!

  • *****

I brought my new jeans here and thought they did good job with it. I've brought jeans to other places and it turned out uneven, so I'm glad to say they don't do that here. Hemming jeans are pretty basic, so I will definitely be back.

    Thanks for the quick turnaround!

You know sometimes when you buy something on ebay and you receive it and it's a little too small? And you obviously can't send it back so you think you're SOL?

I took a beautiful dress to Elenvilla to see if they could let out the rib cage area almost 2 inches. No easy task. Those ladies had the utmost confidence in themselves, and rightly so. I picked up the dress today, a week later, and it fits perfectly.
And the frustrated wrinkles I left in the dress when I dropped it off? Gone.

Elen Villa is a Filipino run family business. The day I dropped off my dress mom and daughter were in. the day I picked it up Dad was there too. They were very helpful with recommending the needed alterations. I cannot imagine not agreeing with them.

I helped my brother in law pick out a suit at Macys, but as he is a little short, with a small waist and broad shoulders it need some adjustments. They had him put in the suit and needled it up with needed adjustments. I needed a silk dress altered as the zipper had bunched all the material. They took out the zipper (as I don't have to unzip it as a busty lady would have to) and made three other alteratios. His suit alternations cost $50 and my dress $30. He dropped his suit off Saturday and mine Monday and both were ready by Weds afternoon! To me this is an amazingly fast time! This is the second time I have gotten anything altered. First time was the rundown looking place on Greenwood Ave near the Safeway. A new zipper cost me $15 and I could have done it myself if I had had the time.

We were given Elen's card by Dan the suit man at Macy's. He recommended her as faster, cheaper and better than the Macy's tailors. As of June Macy's is discontinuing alterations and sending everyone to her.

She is open 9:30-6pm M, T, Th, Fri. Weds 9:30-5pm, Sat 10:30-4pm, and closed Sundays.

When I recently moved to Seattle, I was a bit nervous to leave behind my favorite tailor - Ann Sew Perfect. Ann's work was simply amazing and she even gave me a hug when I told her I was moving.

I trusted the reviews of fellow yelpers and tried out Elenvilla Alterations and Tailoring on my way up to Northgate one day. I had some jeans with a quarter-sized hole that I thought might not make it. Sure enough, they were able to sew on a repair patch and you can barely tell! Best of all, when I am wearing the jeans, I can't feel the patch. The shop is in a little strip mall and they're open till 6 (a plus in my book). I'll definitely be coming back here.

These have to be the sweetest people ever. Kindness does exist on this earth, and this is the center of it.

I had two problems: a hole in a pair of nice jeans, and another hole in the pocket of a nice jacket. Nothing fancy, just wanted them covered up. I took them in around Noon, and the daughter said "come back around 2 p.m. and we'll have them ready." Lo and behold, I come back around 2 p.m. and they're nicely hung in wrap and the holes are securely covered up. The kicker is that they were originally going to charge me $18, but the daughter ended up giving me a little discount.

A little discount and some excellent customer service goes a long way. I'm sad I won't be living in Seattle anymore, but if I'm ever back, I will definitely come here. This place is highly recommended.

Elen Villa is now my regular tailor. The women there altered the suit I wore to my wedding and their work was sensational. Since then, I've brought a number of pieces to them and each one was terrific. The latest was a suit I bought at a consignment store. The pants were cuffed and too short, but the waist and the jacket fit perfectly. I asked if they could let out the cuffs and eliminate the crease that would ensue. They said they could. They did, and you would never know that there ever was a cuff there, it's that smooth. And now I have a $600 suit that I only paid $50 for, plus the tailoring. Quite a bargain, I'd say. It's a great shop with extremely helpful people there.

My tailoring savior! I have had two dresses fixed here.

The first was a bridesmaid dress that I had ordered for my friend's wedding in February 2009. When I ordered the dress from a bridal shop and got my measurements done, I was probably 6 sizes larger than all the other girls. I was depressed and became obsessed with calorie-counting. August came around and I lost some weight. The dress would just fall off of me because it was strapless. I gave Elenvilla a month to fix the dress and they were able to do it without any problem or issues.

The second was a traditional-looking Chinese dress with a broken zipper that I all of a sudden wanted to wear to Yelp Prom. I actually bought this dress years ago at some flea market/swap meet in California's Chinatown somewhere. I would have normally gotten a small, but I got a medium instead - and even the medium didn't fit on me at the time because of my chest! But because of that, it had a broken zipper that I did not get fixed until now. What was crazy was that I had brought in the dress on Monday, and was able to get it fixed by Friday of that same week! That's a quick turnaround!

At first this humble little business does not look like much, but I have a feeling that they really know what they are doing. Plus, they are a lot cheaper and fast, too! I will always find myself coming back here for any tailoring alteration issues.

  • *****

I have had numerous items tailored here and always trust them. I have 3 pairs of jeans with them right now and know they will be done perfectly.

  • *****

    HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!
The cleaners shredded the seams on our floor to ceiling drapes, two 15 foot panels.
and miraculously the super tailor here was able to fix them. I am sure other
jobs will be done just as well. Prices are fair, unlike some tailors in town.

  • *****

My daughter recommended me to this alteration shop and she is absolutely right. They know their craft and they exceeded my expectations every time I bring my clothes in to alter. Their price is very reasonable and I love that it's near the mall.

  • *****

Every time I come here, I get exactly what I asked for. A few years back, I needed the waist of my jeans tightened and the after product was so good that I couldn't even see that they made a difference. I recommended this place to my family so now my brother gets all his clothes fixed here and my dad does as well. The mother-daughter duo are very cute. It had a nice family-type vibe when I came in the first time. Definitely would recommend :)

  • *****

Amazing work and overall customer service! She was so sweet, professional and got my dress altered very quickly....I won't hesitate to come back here for future alterations.
